Sport Premium Breakdown

Primary  PE and Sport Premium

At Eastrington Primary School we believe PE & Sport plays an important role in providing opportunities for every pupil with the potential to change their lives for the better.

We have welcomed the Government’s announcement in June 2013 to provide additional funding to improve provision of physical education (PE) and sport in primary schools. We are committed to using this resource in developing high quality PE lessons, alongside greater opportunities for sporting competitions and clubs for all our young people.

Funding for schools is calculated by the number of primary aged pupils (between the ages of 5 and 11). All schools with 17 or more primary aged pupils will receive a lump sum of £16,000 plus a premium of £10 per pupil.

‘Schools must spend the additional funding on improving their provision of PE and sport, but they will have the freedom to choose how they do this’ (DfE June 2013).

At Eastrington Primary School we allocated the funding to make additional and sustainable improvements to the quality of the PE and Sport that we offer by using the 5 Key indicators as a main focus for expenditure. Please see the document below which details how we have spent our funding and the impact that this will have on our school.

PE Kit Reminder

Welcome Back!

Please could we ask that all pupils have a PE kit in school tomorrow (Tuesday 10th April). We have a PE specialist coming into school to deliver lessons from his new and exciting PE curriculum which we have purchased with some of the Sports Premium Funding.

Now that the weather is slowly improving, it would be advantageous for all pupils to have a pair of trainers in school for PE.

Many Thanks
