At Eastrington Primary School, our curriculum ensures that every child not only receives a good education but that they receive the right education for them.

Our curriculum is firmly rooted in the core subjects of English and Maths as these are the essential foundations for all other learning. Our pupils receive an excellent grounding in reading, writing, spelling, grammar and mathematics which not only ensure that they are able to access all curriculum areas, but also that every child is fully prepared for the next stage of their education.

The broad and balanced curriculum at Eastrington Primary School has been designed to provide a powerful knowledge-based learning experience which develops lively, inquiring minds and inspires our pupils to learn. We have high expectations that each and every pupil will not only make significant progress in all subjects, but that they will discover their own individual strengths and talents through the opportunities that we provide.

We are passionate about bringing learning to life for all children in contexts which have real meaning yet, at the same time, we want them to be challenged to imagine possibilities beyond their own experience and raise their aspirations for the future. Teachers plan the curriculum around the needs of our children and have the freedom to adapt the curriculum in response to the children’s interests.

Curriculum enrichment is an essential part of learning at Eastrington Primary School. We plan a range of visits as well as inviting visitors into school to support us in delivering an inspiring curriculum. Our residential visits, now offered to Y2 –Y6, promote independence and raise self-esteem and confidence in a specialist setting. Our curriculum is enhanced by the extensive range of extra-curricular activities which, with clubs ranging from Mindfulness, Spanish, Art and Craft, Science, Lego and Sport, engage our pupils emotionally, physically, socially and academically.

We also aim to provide a curriculum and experiences which develop pupils’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural well-being and promote a sound understanding of the British values of democracy, government, rule of law, individual liberty, mutual respect and tolerance of different faiths and beliefs.

Our school values are embedded within our curriculum, assemblies and PHSE sessions, ensuring that our pupils develop tolerance, respect, courtesy and consideration for others, regardless of their age, gender, disability, culture or belief and are fully prepared for modern society. Our aim is to develop pupils that will make the world a better place.
