School Council Update 2019/20

A message from the Chairperson:

Hello, my name is Charlotte and I am Chairperson of the School Council at Eastrington Primary School.  We have two pupil governors from each class in Key Stage 1 and 2, and some important roles for pupils in Year 6, such as: a treasurer, secretary and EYFS / KS1 link.

We meet regularly as a council to share lunch and discuss different ideas and ways to improve our school. Once we have had a meeting, the pupil governors tell their class what we have spoken about in the meeting.

At Eastrington Primary School we have achieved lots of exciting things.  Here are just a few;

  • Buddy bus-stop
  • Wishes and worries boxes
  • Buying snacks for the whole school on the pantomime trip to Hull
  • The Golden Table
  • Link with a contrasting school – We visited Adelaide Primary School for the day.
  • A visit to London and the Houses of Parliament where we took part in a tour and workshop about democracy.

School Council Update 2018/19

School Council have been discussing e-safety issues and are creating a questionnaire for pupils. They have also been thinking about renaming the Rainbow Room ( a current project) and the possibility of holding a competition for our pupils to have a voice and share their ideas. The School Council have also introduced a ‘Suggestions Box’ for our pupils to suggest ways to improve their school experiences… there has been some excellent suggestions!
