A warm welcome to Eastrington Primary School in the rural village of Eastrington. We are a vibrant primary school with years of teaching experience and a strong involvement with the local village community. Our children find themselves in a busy and enthusiastic learning environment where there is always much to do, see and learn. PTFA Quiz Night – Wednesday 20th April – Black Swan – 8 p.m.
Please join us at the Black Swan on Wednesday to raise money for the school. There is a prize of a meal for four at Zolsha for the quiz winner! There is also a raffle with lots of great prizes including afternoon tea for two at Gilberdyke Garden Centre, a flower arrangement from Flowers by Hattie, cakes from the Kitchen in Howden, a hamper, wine and much much more! Please support us – it should be a great night and we are all looking forward to it!
Trip to Cannon Hall Farm – Class 1 and 2 – Thursday 21st April
Many thanks to everyone for returning permission slips and contributions. The children will absolutely love their day out – please remember packed lunches and drinks in disposable containers, and that we will not be returning to school until 4 p.m. Many thanks for your support and also to our PTFA team for their kind donation towards the cost of transport.
For Parents of Children who have Guitar and Piano/Singing tuition
On Thursday 28th April, two short presentations will take place by children who have lessons with Daniel Hardcastle and Natalie Walker as follows ……..
- Guitar students will present a concert to their parents in the morning at 9 a.m.
- Piano/Singing students will perform for their parents in the afternoon at 3 p.m.

Monday 4th – 8th July – Induction week for Yr 6 children going to Howden
Natalie Walker, our piano and singing tutor, would like to invite the parents of those children having lessons with her, to a special performance assembly on Tuesday 14th July. If you can make it, you are most welcome to join us. The assembly will take place in the afternoon and will last around 30 minutes. It will be a great way so see how these children have progressed with their music and their confidence.
Things are really heating up for our PTFA Summer Sizzler. We hope that you can make it. It promises to be a great family event with lots of stalls, activities, food and drink. Thanks to everyone who has donated raffle prizes and other items – you are so kind and generous. We are looking forward to an evening of family fun and we all have our fingers crossed that the lovely weather will stay!
Our summer show for Class 1 and 2, takes place next Tuesday, and rehearsals are coming along really well. Thank you for your help and support with obtaining costumes, etc. For the evening performance, please could pupils be back at school for 5.45 p.m. dressed and ready for the stage. Many thanks. Spare tickets will be on sale on Monday if you would like extras.
Next week, all our Year 6 children who are transferring to Howden Secondary School, will spend the full week there to prepare them for their move in September. We will be thinking about them and hope that they have a good time in their new school.
Our Sports Day is planned for tomorrow and judging by the last few days, the weather is going to be very hot, so please remember sunhats, suncream and plenty of water (for children and spectators!). Many thanks for providing the coloured t-shirts and a special thanks to those parents who are able to join us. Also, a huge thank you to our hardworking PTFA team for helping with refreshments. We are all looking forward to a great afternoon.
Bewerley Park Residential Meeting – Tuesday 17th March
There will be a short meeting in the mobile classroom at 3.30 p.m. for parents of children who are taking part in the residential trip. The meeting will give you an opportunity to ask any questions you may have regarding the visit. Could we please have all money in by Friday 27th March, which is the day we break up for the Easterbreak – many thanks.

Inter School Football at Howden Secondary – Wednesday 18th March
Good luck to our team of footballers when they compete against Gilberdyke Primary School after school on Wednesday evening. Thank you to all parents for your support.
Tag Rugby at Goole Rugby Club – Thursday 19th March
Some children from Year 6 will be involved in a Tag Rugby Mega Festival next Thursday.
